Something that has always troubled me with Bobby V's music is the lyrics, the first song " Make You The Only One" has some awful lines like " make me sing twiddle dee" and " no more drinky drinky for me". While some might argue it is rather egotistical, it at least provides some familarity and continuity from his previous releases. The intro is vintage Bobby Valentino, with him singing his name over and over with the help of a female vocalist. He possessess one of the better male voices out of the RnB hierarchy so it was a relief to hear that this time around, the songs were on par with his vocals. Whilst his talent has never been doubted, it has been the quality of the music that has decided Bobby Valentino's fate in the music industry. Bobby V's 3rd album, released independently, sees him return on top of his game and merits a good score. Def Jam, his former label, had put together a bunch of different producers and songwriters and threw the tracks on in any order, a mistake a lot of record labels are making at the moment. Whilst his sophomore joint, " Special Occasion" had some great tracks on it, the sound was really inconsistent. I used to play it real loud in the car, it was soulful, easy to listen to and banged hard. Bobby Valentino's self-titled first album was a classic.
